KAC 5K Challenge & 1K Family Fun Run & Walk

Please join us on October 6, 2018 for the 3rd Annual KAC 5K Challenge & 1K Family Fun Run & Walk in the Town of Tonawanda, NY. The event is being organized by Kenmore Alliance Church and the races will take place in the picturesque Elmlawn Memorial Park. There will be a 5K Race and 1K Family Fun Run & Walk with terrific post-race festivities and a cookout.

Event Overview

Our goal with this event is to expose the running community to our loving, bible teaching and believing church as well as the saving grace of Jesus Christ. In the process we also hope that we are able to introduce the fabulous sport of running to the surrounding community, a great way to invite your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to share time together and a healthy lifestyle activity.

This has been a first time race for many over the past two years and we are so excited to now have those individuls as friends and even more that they have joined one of the greatest sports around - running.

While this is a great event for first time racers, it has proven to be a fabulous course for seasoned runners to achieve personal best times.

START/FINISH

Both the 5K Race and 1K Family Fun Run & Walk will start and finish in the Elmlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, which is located next to the church (south side). Click here to view certified 5K course!

Donations - Kenmore Alliance Church Building Expansion Fund to build a new sanctuary & the Elmlawn Memorial Park Foundation to preserve, restore, and enhance the historically significant aspects of Elmlawn Memorial Park. REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open until the start of the respective races. Race day registration and packet pickup will take place at Kenmore Alliance Church from 7:00am until the start of the races at 8:15 am (1K Fun Run & Walk) and 9:00am (5K) respectively.

Register by September 23rd to guarantee your official race shirt! After this date, extra shirts will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone. Participants with Combo pricing will receive one shirt.

Beautifully detailed and handsome Finisher’s Medals will be distributed as a memento and will be awarded to the runners after crossing the finish line.

A special welcome and thanks to our friends from Canada this year for their anticipated competitive involvement running the races and then enjoying a day of shopping!

TEAM CHALLENGE
The 5 KAC Challenge awards the team with the most registered participants for their respective organization (All are welcome! - churches, businesses, clubs, family teams, etc.); Last year our Team Challenge winners received Tim Hortons cards, this year's award will be announced in the near future.

During the registration process you will be asked... "Would like to join or create a team?". Please add the name of your team or select it from the dropdown menu if it was already created. Challenge members must be registered under the same team name to be eligible.

POST RACE CELEBRATION
Please join us after the race for a post race celebration that includes a cookout, snacks, refreshments, music, and an awards ceremony.

PARKING
There will be plenty of free parking at Kenmore Alliance Church in their nicely paved and well lighted lot (at 175 Bonnett Avenue).

IN MEMORY OF GREG
We unexpectedly lost part of our family earlier this year. Greg was part of our pre-race team and also served the Lord through Samaritan's Purse - U.S. Disaster Relief in Houston, TX (Hurricane Harvey) & in Tarboro, NC over the winter. We miss you! Love Dad - "I can only imagine" Being confident of this very thing that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ (PHP 1:6)

AGE GROUPS & AWARDS

Beautifully designed plaques (by Niagara Awards) will be presented to the 1st Place overall male and female 5K Race winners and awards (gold medals for first, silver for second and bronze for third place) will be given to the top three male and female 5K finishers in each of the following age groups:

Age Groups - 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and older.

Also, trophies will be presented to the top three youngsters (boy and girl finisher's) for the 1K Family Fun Run & Walk for participants under 10 years old. All others, regardless of their age, will receive an attractive commemorative Finisher’s Medal.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Both the 5 KAC Challenge and the 1K Family Fun Run & Walk will feature a gun start and chip finish. Timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results will be updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
